The 'Me' Time

Assalamualaikum wbt

I love this. Alone. In a coffee shop. With a mug of hazelnut latte --- favorite companion for coffee time. Observing. Thinking. Jotting down some thoughts. That's just how I love my 'me' time.

But I know, as much as I love this 'me' time, I am absolutely do not belong to this kind of treat. I hate to say this, but I am definitely belong to the hectic life. Being busy. Being loaded with lots of chores and tasks to do. Having datelines to be followed. I have the tendency to be a workaholic but I refuse to think about it that way because the word sounds negative (to me), so perhaps I could just replace it with the word 'committed'. Yeah, that's better.

Amidst the chaotic life, I love the moment when I can finally sneak some time out for myself. That way, I learn to value my 'me' time even more. It doesn't need luxurious stuff to fill the treat and make me feel good. Sometimes a book and a cup of coffee, and some free time to write is enough to retreat myself.

Everybody has their own way of retreating themselves with 'me time'. It doesn't necessarily need to be on your own. Some people might love to have their best friend accompanying and do what they love to do together. Some people might use it to make self reflection, go to religious classes or talk, do volunteering work, and many more.

Whatever it is, how a person spend the 'me' time does not really matter as long as it does not go against what is prohibited. What matter most is that from each 'me' session, there is a sense of satisfaction to fulfill one's desire of escaping themselves from the daily routine or any problems. We need this. We all need this. With the hope that, every 'me' time can provide us all with a much relieved heart and mind, and of course, a booster to start the routine or to face any problem all over again.

Definisi Cinta

Assalamualaikum wbt

Jom, ubah visi cinta kita.

Insya Allah.

From Woman, To Women

Assalamualaikum wbt

It's International Women's Day and everywhere in the social media, lots of posts have been made with woman as the theme.

As I am writing this down, I am feeling so much grateful and blessed to have been born as a Muslim with a decent family background, enough for me to understand that a woman's creation by God is such a wonder, a symbolic of His Greatness and the fact that Islam came to lift up the level of woman and save them from being degraded.

Being raised in a family where all of the members are female except my father, we deal with so much emotional rages, so much sensitivity and fight over ridiculous matters, which lead to a question "Why don't I have brothers instead?". However, as I grow up, and as each one of us walking towards maturity, I realised that having them in my life are comforting, and I started to see the strength and positive value in them, and while I go through some hardships as they do, I tend to value them even more. Fights reduced as we all grow, perhaps because we are women, so we tend to understand each other even more (emotionally), and try to give support (even in silence) instead of bashing or neglecting. Most of the times.

So many strong woman figures around us, an inspiration to their family, children, colleagues, students and everyone! Today, we celebrate the women in our life as an honor for their sacrifices, intelligence, strengths, success and many more good qualities. From Khadijah r.a, to the Queen of our heart ----- our beloved Mother, there are just so many incredible women for us to look up to. Today, they are celebrated, not to fight for equality, but to seek for equity, fairness. At the same time, we must not deny the fact that men and women are created for each other and in need to complete each other as well.

We all have a strong quality that can be benefited for other people.
We all have that one ADVANTAGE that may not have in others. So utilised it.
To all the women out there, to all the unsung heroines,
Happy International Women's Day!

So much love from me.

Just Do It

Assalamualaikum wbt

This is a very quick one.

Dear beloved Muslims,
Had you come to a point of break down or frustration,
Or you just feel lazy to do your ibadah,
Please wake straight up and JUST DO IT.
Seek forgiveness and ask to keep your iman at its highest position.
Please. I beg you.
You JUST HAVE TO DO IT.
Because one missing prayer, one missing quran recitation,
Can make you vulnerable,
And syaitan can invade you JUST RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT.
So please.

I'm Not A Muslim, But...

Assalamualaikum wbt

After the Paris attack that occurred recently, Western medias have make it such a huge headline in the newsfeed, causing so much stereotypes to the Muslims entirely without knowing the fact that the so called ISIS are not even Muslims. Even if they are, they are not true Muslims. Seriously, which religion taught a human to do such cruel act to the innocents?

I was browsing on Youtube videos recently, and I stumbled upon this video. "I'm Not A Muslim, But...". It's a video containing little 'speech' and thoughts by some random people saying so much beautiful things about Muslim. Watching it made me feel a little (actually so much) relieve that not all are badly influenced by the media spinning on the terror attack. We still have lots and lots of wonderful people that believe that true Muslims would not do such indecent and horrible act, and that Islam means peace =)

The Writer's Struggle

Assalamualaikum wbt

It's almost the end of October.

As you can see from the archives, my writing achievement has been declining very badly since I started my practical earlier this year. Although it has officially ended few months ago, I still can't be back on the track that I used to walk on despite of the ample time that I have now.

I'm basically running out of ideas to write, and yes, I do struggle to keep active in writing. I have made some drafts and list of topics that I want to write, but sometimes as I write, my mind would stuck and in the end, there is only zero for writing. There are times that I want to write, just about some typical stuffs, but then I was demotivated to continue when I thought my typical writings are just too cliche, and it would not be beneficial to the readers (if there's any), hence it would be a waste. Because my aim of writing, apart from expressing my thoughts and feelings, I also aim to produce something that can really benefit others. I write with the aim to inspire other people. I write with the aim to relief those hearts who are in the state of unease.

Perhaps, I've been aiming too high.

If I cannot be persistent in this writing journey, and be consistent in producing good writings (doesn't matter if it is cliche or not), how am I supposed to write something that would inspire other people?

Isn't it?

So I guess, the very first step that I should do after this is to try my very best to write something at least, twice a month. I can't be excited to set my target so high as I'm coming back to my baby steps in this writing journey. Hopefully, one day, I would inspire people through the things that I love --- writing.

Of Marriage Again: It Will Happen At The Right Time

Assalamualaikum wbt

Her,
Age: 21
Status: Just Married

Another her,
Age: 22
Status: Married, and a son

Just one more her,
Age: 22
Status: Married, and a daughter

And I,
Age: 22
Status: Single

And I was like.. "I'm just 22 by the way" *waving*

Phewww! Looking at all of the wedding invitations, and so far, JUST SO FAR, there are 10 of them, and I probably has miscounted some invitations, so it could be more than 10. Well, I may need not the travel list. If I attended all of these, I could be considered traveling almost half of this country, excluding the Borneo.

So what most newly weds do, or even if they do not, the guests will do? Posting wedding pictures in social media. The pre-wedding and the post-wedding so on so forth will be flocking the news feed, and I will be enjoying looking at those pictures, on one condition: of moderate amount please!

Scrolling through the news feed, I could see the comments made by some of their friends, or relatives, or long-lost friends who happened to be the silent reader all this while, and just start commenting on the picture because she/he could not believe that their also-long-lost-friends have got married, at such young age! Most will congratulate, and wish for their happiness, and some... "Cepatnya kahwin awak. Kita ntah bilalah lagi. Hmmm", or "Bestnya dah kahwin!".

*krik krik krik*

Yeah, the so-called insecurities of not-yet-married, not-yet-get-a-job, not-yet-graduate bla bla bla will always fall on this age of us, or for as long as you had not reach any one of those 'goals'. The worries on what the future beholds for all of us will never be an end. It would always be the scariest thing because of its uncertainty.

And I can only geleng kepala and giggle while reading those kinds of comments.

Oh dear, I do not want to say much. But I will just give you one simple advice: be patient. Fasobrun Jameel. Patience is beauty and patience is the best way of all. Allah has even promised, that there are wonderful things will be granted to those whom with patience.

Hold on dear. Everything will happen at the right time. And your time will come, soon insya Allah.

I've get used to these now. And I'm still cool with it. Hiks.

Confession!

Assalamualaikum wbt

Confession page.

And here is my confession:
I hate confession pages.
It creates the so called keyboard warrior and creates even more barrier between the mankind.

Ladies, Ini Untuk Kita.

Assalamualaikum wbt

Hairan aku dengan,
The so-called muslimah fashion nowadays.

Hijabista hipster kata mereka.
Segalanya, atas nama cantik.

Pakaian,
Seluar senteng pun cantik.
Baju sendat pun cantik.
Baju pendek pun cantik.

Tudung,
Lilitan tak kemas pun cantik.
Selendang tak bergosok pun cantik.
Tidak tutup dada,
Tidak tutup leher,
Tak apa, tetap cantik.

Apabila,
Segalanya, atas nama agama,

Bila ditegur aurat,
Disuruh biarkan,

Soalanku padamu wahai Muslimah,

Kita tidak boleh menafikan bahawa manusia akan sentiasa 'Judge a book by its cover'.

Bukanlah aku minta engkau berjubah mahupun bertudung labuh. Cukuplah sempurnanya apabila ia mengikut syariat.

Perlahan-lahan, tetapi jangan sampai ketinggalan. Aku juga masih berusaha.

Semoga dipermudahkan buat kita semua.

Factor of Analysis

Assalamualaikum wbt

Just like how maturity is not defined by age,
your level of concern is not defined by how much post that you share.

You cannot judge a person through the things that you see virtually.

Who knows,
those silent readers could be the most concerning of all.

Because the initial noble intention for the posts that are shared,
have most probably been corrupted with cunning heart diseases that bring pride to the individual.

Nauzubillahiminzalik.
May we all be protected from the heart diseases that make the good deeds worthless.

Persepsi: Nilai Duit Syiling

Assalamualaikum wbt

Duit syiling.

Sedangkan, ia tetap duit. Tetap ada nilai. Tetap sah dalam urusan jual beli.

Lainlah mesin gedegang. =)

Ujian Tiada Henti Tanda Kasih

Assalamualaikum wbt

Hidup di dunia ini sarat dengan ujian. Ya, ini tempat ujian. Andai kau lelah, maka jatuhlah dikau. Andai kau kuat, maka dapatlah kau harunginya.

Sekolah Bukan Penjara, Universiti Bukan Kilang

'Sekolah Bukan Penjara, Universiti Bukan Kilang'

Terlampau banyak pertikaian yang dibangkitkan berkenaan dengan hal-hal yang berlaku di Malaysia, especially pendidikan, which is a very very crucial and significant matter to the people in this country.

We hope the education system in our country can be refined and upgraded so that everyone can get the most of benefits in order to build a better society and country in the future.

The She-Cat and Me

Assalamualaikum wbt

There is a she-cat in my house. Muka bengis. Kami tak bagi nama padanya sebab dia datang entah daripada mana, with bloated tummy (pregnant), and then one day her tummy exploded (deliver). Maka lahirlah 5 ekor anak kucing yang kesemuanya so far sihat-sihat belaka.

Kesemua anak kucing kami letak dalam sangkar. Kata Saibah sebab takut burung patuk bila dibiar berkeliaran.

But that was okay until she bite one of her kitty because she does not want to feed them. Saibah was there.

"Kenapa Kak Nini pukul dia?!"
"Dia tak nak bagi susu kat anak dia. Tadi dia gigit anak dia!"
"Yelah, tapi janganlah pukul dia"
"Kalau Kak Nini keluarkan anak-anak kucing ni boleh tak?"
"Keluarkanlah kejap."

So I took all of them out from their cage. Let them wander and explore their surroundings. And you know what had surprised me?

As I approached the she-cat, I saw one of her nipples bleed. It broke my heart. I could see the reason why she did not want to feed them. And then I look at the cage. Probably.

You see. Ibu mana tak kasihkan anak. Kadangkala, kasih binatang lagi hebat daripada manusia. I jumped into conclusion too fast when I saw what happened for the first time. One action and I had jumped into the negative thoughts without further investigating.

Aku amat pasti.

Thank you she-cat. You taught me a lesson.
And thank you Allah. You had opened my eyes.

Dear Muslimah, You Are Unique!

Assalamualaikum wbt

I thought that this is something sweet to be shared with all the muslimah out there.

When you wear the proper hijab, you are indeed making a statement, that you are a Muslim woman, from that very step you have stand out already, you have delivered the message to the people that you embody the rules and regulations of Islam, that you by that very time you stepped out of your house wearing that proper hijab, you tell the people, i am worshipping my God and i do not care if i please your eyes or not, what i care for is if i please my God and protect myself.

When we are Muslims, we are Islam, we represent our religion so let us be most moderate, most sensitive and most careful whenever we speak about our deen.
We can motivate, uplift and make others understand better our deen if our tongues are are also embodied with hijab.

And to all my sisters in Islam, i know all of us are struggling in her own ways so let me remind you,
"O Muslimah, you staying firm to your faith, protecting and guarding your modesty (both by dressing and by your tongue) is what makes you beautiful, what makes you stand out and unique.
You being able to shun off the “trends” and  what is in” and keeping the sunnah and all, girl you going High with your ajr, so keep it up, please Thy Creator. I along with the millions of your sisters in the deen,We got your back girl. We got your back.

Sometimes what a sister in the deen really needs is just to be assured that through her struggle someone understands her, that she is not alone in this journey, that when she looks back she doesn’t see her shadow rather she sees millions of people who are supporting her, and that is our duty my dear sisters, so be one of those.
Who else would guard our backs but our own kind? Let us rebuild the sisterhood, let us rebuild it.

So sister, I am telling you, i am struggling just like you, but this doesn’t shun me from telling you that I love you for the sake of Allaah and I am with you, and as long as i am breathing through the Mercy of Allaah, I am with you, I may not be physically there but know that in my du’as you are there. Please habibti you do not need to follow the trends, you just need to follow your heart, where Allaah lies.

Moderate the watching of these hijab tutorials, keep the modesty, read a book, learn about the life of our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wassalaam, the life of the sahabah radiyallahu anhum, learn about the manners of an ilm seeker, there are so much other things to do than getting hooked up into these tutorials. I’m not saying stop it but recommending you to moderate it, in sha Allaah.

Keep Silent

Assalamualaikum wbt

Sometimes it is good for you to speak up of what's wandering in your mind.
Share them and let people hear the other side's story.
But sometimes, it is best to just shut your mouth up and keep yourself silent.
The more words you spilled, the more truth will be revealed.
Beware of your words.

Beauty Inside Out

Assalamualaikum wbt

Recently, I was scrolling down the Facebook newsfeed, and I came through some suggested pages on facial whitening products. These days, whitening products has emerged largely in the cosmetic industry at a very rapid time span. To be honest, yes, I did opened the pages to see what are they offering and the testimonies from their customers (just to check on how their products work).

The results: It was the opposite of what I've searched through Google, compared to the one that was shown in the pages. Of course they won't show the negative one on their pages, but try to search it on the internet through other mediums which does not belong to the owner, you will find some feedback on the negative side effects that have been experienced.

To be honest again, yes, I was one of those people whom have been influenced with all these positive feedback. And by seeing the flawless pictures (of before and after) that they've posted, it increases my eagerness to buy them. The results amazed me! The only thing is that, I haven't got the chance to own them til now. Oh well, as a student, money is a very big issue okee! Those things aren't cheap! However, I am really grateful for not doing so.

With the large emergence of these type of products, it was like a beauty campaign with having fair skin as the main objective. Everyone was sooo into it that they would be willing to spend lots of money to buy the products. I was wondering what are they trying to promote to the society? That beauty only belongs to those with fair and flawless skin? That beauty is to be seen only from the outer perspective?

I was, too, used to prone to these beauty products which promises you the fair and flawless skin that everyone was dreaming to have. I've even tried them a few times, and it didn't work. Some cause me to feel some sorts of burning sensation on my skin. Of course some may guarantee a very rapid changes after using the products, but they will have the chemical after-effects when we starts to get older. And because I'm a person who are soooo afraid of these long-term side effects that I don't even favour to consume medicine, so I stopped.

I'm not saying it's not right. I was just making a conclusion of what I've seen. It's like being perfectly pretty is the ultimate purpose. Well of course, everybody wants to become pretty. Who doesn't? But the society now is seen to become more and more obsessed with outer beauty. People, what's the big deal about it?!

Urgh. I'd better stop now because it makes me feel a bit of emotional. In a way, I felt so stupid for letting my desire of having perfect skin conquered me. When I look at other people who is happy with whatever they were given, it makes me realise that perfection does not come in a perfect form. It is subjective. Most of the times, the imperfection is the key towards perfection.

Dark skin or fair, flawless or with pimples, with scars or without, we should always be grateful and appreciate whatever that we have. For all of these are not ours, and will soon fade away. Do not be obsessed by beauty as it is a subjective matter. Don't be so serious about it for there are many other important things to be given extra care. What matter is our health. As long as we're happy with ourselves, then that's fine. That's all we need.

We need to appreciate ourselves first, and then the confident in us will boost up. True love is not judged through the outer beauty. It's the personality from inside that will reflect who we are in the outside.

I've taken my lessons. Chill lah! =)

Legally Unfair

Assalamualaikum wbt

Akhir-akhir ni blog dah dipenuhi dengan segala macam karya agung orang yang kecewa mencari cinta. Oh, kau! Lemah sungguh!

Okee, ini last. Betul aku cakap.
Erm, insya Allah. Hehe.

Raise your hand and voice out your opinion. Eh no. Don't have to. Keep it in your heart, or your mind, or your diary, or your Facebook, or your Twitter, or your blog, or your Tumblr.

You know. There's never a guarantee that you will get anything that you want. Never. And when we talk about love, it's true that when you love someone, you're not necessarily going to be loved back by that same person. Bear with this fact.

However, as a Muslim, we have our way to interpret this 'unfairness' that always happens in our life.

".....It may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know."

Surah Al-Baqarah,verse 216

Arasso?
hehe.

Rileksla. Ini bukanlah tujuan utama hidup. Ada banyak lagi perkara yang perlu diutamakan. Sampai masa, it will happen.

"Kata mereka jodoh itu hadiah, hadiah kenalah surprise!"

When Blue Bird Stopped Tweeting

Assalamualaikum wbt

" Nini, lama dah tak nampak kau kat twitter"

" Dah lama dah delete"

" Eh, kenapa?"

" Tak bolehlaaaa. Bahaya"

It was quite a long time since I've deleted my twitter account. And then people kept asking me why. I was like "What's the big deal?"

" Ala sayang Nini dah delete twitter, kalau tak, dah boleh join conversation"

-.-'

People. Stop it.

I deleted my account because it had caused me too much procrastination. Instead of doing my piles of works on time, I delayed them and kept saying to myself that I still have the time! Until the moment I realized that I've spent HOURS tweeting and scrolling the timeline, then only I said to myself "Nini, STOP TWEETING! Go and get your work done. Dah tak banyak masa dah nih!" kat rumah ke, kat kolej ke, sama je. WORST bila aku start 'berburung-biru' dalam lecture hall. Langsung tak boleh fokus dah. Maka 1-2 jam berlalu dengan sia-sia.

And and and... another thing was, I tend to express almost everything on the twitter. Why? because I can tweet as much as I want without people bothering, and I know people will not be ought to comment on the statements made. They scrolled, saw my tweet, read it, and ignored it later.

Alah, tipulah. Orang akan naik annoyed punya. Kalau dah ada depan depan, dah lama dah kena baling kasut. At least kat Facebook aku boleh lagi lah nak control. Nanti kang bila aku buat mesti ada yang komen " This is not twitter".

BURN! T.T

And and and... one last thing. Statements (or tweets I supposed) that will trigger a little spark in my heart, straight to my mind, and cause me to start thinking of why, why and why. Overthinking will take over and ruins you. It ruined me. Hmmm hmmm hmmm.

Somehow, I turned them into my pieces of 'literature artworks' just to comfort myself that I've not yet gone too far. I don't always express what I feel directly. It will be in a language that only certain people could really understand. Kalau tidak memahami pun, they will understand them in their own pattern of interpretation. Lain orang, lain situasinya kan.

With Facebook, blog and Tumblr accounts, I thought, that's enough. Apa gunanya kau jadi seorang hamba kepada Tuhan jika bukan pada Dia kau luahkan segalanya?

I don't banned all these stuffs because I have them too. Lagipun, satu je pun akaun sosial yang aku delete. It's a good channel for you to express thoughts or whatever lies beneath your heart when you're dying to tell somebody about something but you don't want to because you are so 'shy-shy cat'. It's just that you need to know how to limit yourself and be careful with what you're posting because not all people will interpret and understand them in your way. They could misjudge the whole thing and tak pasal-pasal ada yang bermasam muka tanpa sebab yang munasabah.

Some people can control themselves very well.
I can't.

They know about this. Haha

Di Sebalik Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum wbt

24 Ramadhan 1434H
Ini apa yang ku perhati sepanjang Ramadhan.

*                          *                             *

Dia mungkin hanya seorang warga emas biasa.

Aku tanya adik aku:" Siapa dia?"
