To Teach or Not To Teach

Assalamualaikum wbt..

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
~Henry Adams

A teacher of a lifetime. The knowledge given do not stop there. It is spread through generations. I admit, being a teacher is a very noble job, but never an easy one. I experienced it myself. (ermm.. well, I consider answering to my sisters' questions regarding their studies as a part of teaching. heee..) Anyway, again, it is a tough job.

My own mother is a teacher. An English teacher in which she had never thought to be one. Being a daughter of a teacher do not stress me out so much as what others might feel. I was not forced to do this and that, or to achieve a very excellent result in exams and so on. But to those who have their parents teaching in their school, the situation might gonna be different. Ouh, trust me, I understand that! "D

ONE THING however, I must say, when the offer for IPG is opened, and when the time comes for us to fill the UPU form, she will surely asked us to go for the courses that offer Educational Studies. TESL la especially. Typical. But she never force. She will just suggest and encourage.

As for me, I am not into teaching not because I can't, but I just don't have the passion and the patience to teach. I can't even tolerate with my own sisters when teaching them, so how am I gonna cope well when I am teaching a large group of students? Just a little ponder. Maybe if I have the will, I can actually teach myself to be patient, and to be a good teacher. I guess so. hehe.. however, I do love the feel when I teach something to people, they understand and really clear about it. It was a feeling of awesomeness. A feeling full with excitement. Hee...

Anyway, this is just an opinion of mine regarding the job of teaching upon the celebration of Teachers' Day - 16th May. For that, I would like to wish all the teachers out there Happy Teachers' Day. Especially to the teachers who have taught me before, IQRA' Institute, SK Raja Muda Seksyen 4, SJK(C) Subang, SJK(C) Tiong Hua Kok Bin, SMK Meru, SMK Convent Bukit Nanas, Asrama Yayasan Selangor Kuala Lumpur, and Pusat Asasi Sains Pertanian UPM.

Lastly, a special wish to my parents. Ummi and Abi. The teacher of a lifetime since I was born. Thank you for everything. Thank you for the support, the knowledge, the encouragement, and again, thank you for everything!! May Allah bless you two always. Love you! "D
